Jacques and Jessica Moretti's court restrictions extended to October

The Tribunal des mesures de contrainte du canton du Valais has prolonged the substitution measures imposed on Jacques and Jessica Moretti, the couple charged in the investigation of the Crans‑Montana fire, for an additional 90 days, now running until 9 October. The measures continue to prohibit the pair from leaving Switzerland and require them to report daily to a police station.

Through their lawyers, the Morettis have asked the court to ease the daily in‑person check‑in by allowing police to verify their presence via video call. The Valais public prosecutor confirmed the request, and the judge indicated willingness to consider the modification pending a review of its practicality and effectiveness.
