Jacques Delfosse faces investigation for sexual violence against minors

The Lille prosecutor's office has opened a judicial investigation into Jacques Delfosse, an octogenarian former priest, for sexual violence and the rape of minors. The investigation follows allegations involving seven victims who participated in summer camps organized by Delfosse between 1990 and 2002.

According to Prosecutor Samuel Finielz, the alleged crimes occurred in the French departments of Nord, Ardèche, Val-de-Marne, and Hautes-Alpes. The victims were between the ages of five and 18 at the time.

A total of 26 people have filed complaints against the former priest, though 19 other complainants have been notified of the dismissal of their cases due to the statute of limitations. Delfosse underwent a voluntary hearing in June due to his health status, and an investigating judge will now determine his formal indictment.
