Jacques Vriens receives Platina Boek as Lot Beukers tops bestseller list

Children's book author Jacques Vriens has been awarded a Platina Boek by the Stichting CPNB. During the recording of the Kinderen voor Kinderen song for the upcoming Kinderboekenweek, Vriens was also presented with two Gouden Boeken for his titles ‘Oorlogsgeheimen’ and ‘Grootmoeders grote oren…’.

The Kinderboekenweek is scheduled to run from September 30 to October 11, featuring the theme ‘Spot aan!’. This year, Vriens authored the lyrics for the official Kinderen voor Kinderen song.

In separate literary news, the CPNB released the bestseller top 10 list for week 36 of 2026. ‘Het Beukers menuboek’ by Lot Beukers debuted at the number one position. Other notable entries in the top 10 include ‘Theo in Golden’ by Allen Levi and ‘Wat psychisch lijden is’ by Jim van Os, which saw the fastest rise, moving from 57th place to 8th.
