São João Batista Civil Defense issues river monitoring guidance

The Civil Defense of São João Batista is providing guidance on monitoring the water levels of the Tijucas River and local rainfall volumes. Residents can access real-time data through the Santa Catarina Civil Defense monitoring system, which utilizes a hydrometeorological station installed near the Manoel Atanázio dos Santos Bridge.

Authorities noted that the system currently displays altitude relative to sea level rather than the traditional local reference level. To obtain the traditional river level, users must subtract 9.60 meters from the value shown by the station. This new monitoring setup follows the deactivation of a previous station by the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANA).
