Jada Pinkett Smith seeks psychological exam for Bilal Salaam
Jada Pinkett Smith is seeking a court order to mandate a psychological examination for Bilal Salaam, a former friend of Will Smith, as part of their ongoing $3 million legal battle. The actress's legal team has requested a five to six-hour evaluation to verify the validity and extent of the emotional distress claims central to Salaam's lawsuit.
Salaam filed the suit in December 2025, alleging that Pinkett Smith threatened him and caused severe emotional trauma. He claims these actions forced him to live abroad out of fear, led to the end of a long-term romantic relationship, and resulted in high blood pressure. The dispute reportedly stems from Salaam's refusal to assist Will Smith during a public controversy involving Chris Rock and his plans to write a memoir detailing certain celebrity lifestyles.
Previous developments in the case include a Los Angeles judge ordering Salaam to pay Pinkett Smith $32,836 in legal fees after certain claims were dismissed under California’s anti-SLAPP law. Salaam has also attempted to name Will Smith as a co-defendant, seeking to depose the actor regarding alleged participation in threats.
