Jadranka Kosor discusses childhood trauma and family violence
Former Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor has shared details regarding a difficult childhood marked by domestic violence and social isolation. In a recent podcast appearance, Kosor described her parents' marriage as being characterized by violence from the beginning, noting that her father frequently beat her mother.
Kosor revealed that the trauma of witnessing this violence as an infant led to a medical episode, after which she was sent to live with her grandmother. Her parents' marriage dissolved when she was two years old, and she has had no contact with or memory of her father since that time.
Due to her family circumstances, Kosor faced significant challenges in school. As the only child in her class from a divorced household, she was subjected to bullying and physical violence from her peers. She also noted that she did not live with her mother until she was seven or eight years old due to her mother's inability to secure a job transfer from Međimurje.
