Jaecoo 5 hybrid SUV launches in Brazil starting at R$ 154,990
Omoda & Jaecoo has launched the Jaecoo 5 hybrid SUV in Brazil, positioning it as a competitive option against models like the Volkswagen T-Cross and Hyundai Creta. The vehicle features a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined 224 hp and approximately 1,000 km of autonomy using a full hybrid (HEV) system that does not require external charging.
For the initial launch phase, the company is offering a promotional batch of 3,600 units. The Comfort version is priced at R$ 154,990, while the top-tier Prestige version is R$ 179,990. Once the first batch is sold, prices are expected to rise to R$ 159,990 and R$ 184,990, respectively. The vehicle offers a 410-liter trunk and comes with a 7-year general warranty and an 8-year battery warranty.
The launch occurs as the Brazilian market celebrates surpassing 1 million electrified vehicle registrations. Industry experts project that electrified vehicle sales could reach 3 million by 2030, driven by increasing competition from international manufacturers.
