Jaecoo introduces J7 PHEV AWD version in Australia

Jaecoo has officially introduced the all-wheel drive (AWD) version of the Jaecoo J7 PHEV, which will debut in the Australian market this month. The vehicle utilizes a Super Hybrid System-Plug-in Hybrid featuring a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

Powered by a 1.5L gasoline engine producing 103 hp and 215 Nm, the system is supplemented by a primary motor (204 hp, 210 Nm) and a secondary rear-axle motor (154 hp, 210 Nm). This configuration results in a total output of 354 hp and 490 Nm of torque. The vehicle is equipped with an 18.4 kWh LFP battery manufactured by BYD. While the AWD system increases traction, it reduces the pure electric range from 100 km to 80 km under the NEDC standard. The battery supports 40 kW DC fast charging, reaching 30-80% in 20 minutes.

In Australia, the top-tier Summit variant includes features such as full-LED lighting, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 14.8-inch vertical touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a head-up display (HUD), and an 8-speaker Sony sound system. Safety features include eight airbags and a comprehensive driver assistance package.
