Jaecoo launches hybrid SUV in Germany and previews electric SUV in Malaysia
The Chinese automaker Jaecoo introduced its Jaecoo 5 HEV, a full‑hybrid compact SUV, to the German market. The model is available from €27,900 in the Select trim and €30,900 in the Exclusive trim. It combines a 1.5‑litre turbo‑gas engine with a 150 kW electric motor, delivering 165 kW (224 hp) and a WLTP fuel consumption of 5.3 L/100 km. The vehicle seats five, features an 18‑inch alloy wheel, a panoramic glass roof and a 13.2‑inch digital cockpit, and is supported by a German spare‑parts network with 24‑hour logistics.
In Malaysia, Jaecoo showcased the J5 EV, its first fully electric SUV for the market. The vehicle offers a 58.9 kWh LFP battery with a WLTP‑rated range of 402 km, a 155 kW (208 hp) motor, 288 Nm torque, and fast‑charging capability up to 130 kW (30 %–80 % in about 28 minutes). Standard equipment includes a large panoramic roof, dual‑zone climate control, V2L functionality, level‑2+ ADAS and an 18‑inch aero wheel set. The J5 EV will be assembled locally from CKD kits and is positioned between the BYD Atto 2 and Proton e‑MAS 7 in size and price.
