JAF launches regional traffic safety campaigns in Japan

The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) is participating in various regional traffic safety campaigns in Japan as part of the Autumn National Traffic Safety Campaign.

In Kagoshima, the JAF Kagoshima branch will host a booth at Shiranami Stadium on September 19, 2026. The event features the free issuance of ‘Child Safety Licenses,’ which are photo ID cards designed to look like driver's licenses. Children can earn these cards by answering traffic safety quizzes on a touch panel, providing an interactive way for families to learn about road safety.

In Nagasaki, the JAF Nagasaki branch will hold an event at the Omura Bay Parking Area on the Nagasaki Expressway on September 21, 2026. This session focuses on the importance of seatbelt use through a ‘Seatbelt Convincer’ demonstration, which allows participants to experience the impact of a collision at approximately 5 km/h. The initiative aims to promote the use of seatbelts and child seats during the busy autumn travel season.
