Jaffna to welcome Northern Sri Lanka’s tallest residential tower

Tilko Blue Ocean Holdings Ltd. has signed an agreement with the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) to develop the Yarl Royal Palace in Jaffna. The project is set to become the tallest residential building in Northern Sri Lanka.

Located on Kandy Road overlooking the historic Old Park, the development will consist of 13 residential floors, 78 residences, and six levels of parking. The BOI noted that the project represents a significant private-sector investment intended to stimulate economic activity in sectors such as construction, engineering, logistics, and financial services.

The development aims to leverage Jaffna’s growing property market and its strong connections with the global Tamil diaspora in countries including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Switzerland, and Germany. The project is intended to signal the potential for large-scale private investment in the Northern Province, moving beyond the traditional real estate markets of Colombo.
