Jag Gill elected Mayor of Mission by acclamation

Jag Gill has been declared the new mayor of Mission by acclamation following the decision by Kenny Braich to withdraw from the 2026 mayoral race. Gill, who has served on the City Council since 2018, becomes the youngest mayor in the city’s history.

In a statement to the community, Gill noted that while he had campaigned for an election to present his vision and record, the process concluded unexpectedly. A lifelong resident of Mission, Gill previously served as the city's youngest councillor. His background includes local business ownership and community volunteerism.
