Jagex to launch RuneScape Reignited with new economy on December 2

Jagex has announced the launch of RuneScape Reignited, scheduled for December 2. This new feature introduces a permanent character type designed to provide a fresh start for new, returning, and veteran players.

Reignited characters will operate within a parallel economy featuring its own Grand Exchange and high scores. A key distinction of this mode is the total absence of paid progression; players cannot purchase advancement for these characters. While Reignited characters exist in the same game worlds as existing Veteran characters, they cannot trade items with them or participate in the same boss instances. However, they can still join clans and homesteads alongside Veteran players.

To support the launch, Jagex will offer Reignited characters free access to members' content for the first ten days. The December 2 update will also debut the Adventure Guide and the next phase of the RuneScape remastering project. Additionally, following RuneFest 2026, Jagex revealed a separate, independent RuneScape MMO project being developed using Unreal Engine.
