Jagiellonian University library undergoes modernization

The library at the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biotechnology in Krakow has undergone a significant modernization. Designed by the Mocolocco studio, the renovation aims to transform the traditional library into a flexible, multifunctional environment that meets the contemporary needs of students and researchers.

The new layout features an acoustic division between a ‘quiet work’ zone and a ‘loud work’ zone. To facilitate this, the book collection was moved to the first floor, freeing up the ground floor to serve as a creative zone for group work, meetings, and events. The design also emphasizes inclusive solutions for neurodivergent individuals.
