Jagoba Arrasate discusses career and Carlos Vela

Football manager Jagoba Arrasate has shared insights regarding his career and recent activities during a period of reflection following his departure from Mallorca. In a recent interview, Arrasate identified Carlos Vela as the best player he has ever coached, noting that while Antoine Griezmann has had a more significant career, Vela was superior in daily training environments.

Arrasate also discussed his failed negotiations to join Rayo Vallecano, noting that despite formal meetings and mutual understanding with club president Martín Presa, the club ultimately chose a different direction.

Additionally, the coach detailed a recent trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, facilitated by his close friend Carlo Ancelotti. During the visit, Arrasate spent time with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) staff to study their methodology and visited the Maracanã stadium.
