Jagoda Ciupek wins cadet judo world championship

Jagoda Ciupek has become the cadet world champion in judo. Competing in the 57 kg category at the World Cadet Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the Polish athlete secured the gold medal after a decisive victory over Kazakhstan's Inzhu Zhumazhan.

Ciupek won the final match in 1 minute and 35 seconds, utilizing the o-uchi-gari technique to secure the win. This victory follows a series of successful performances, including a gold medal at the European Cadet Championships in June 2026 and multiple European Cup titles. She currently holds the first place in the IJF world rankings for her category with 620 points.
