Jags Aviation expands fleet with Bell 407 helicopter in Guyana

Jags Aviation, a member of the BK Group of Companies, has added a Bell 407 helicopter to its fleet, representing an investment of more than G$1 billion. The aircraft was unveiled at the BK International hangar at Ogle Airport.

The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is currently working with the company to ensure the helicopter meets all regulatory and safety requirements before it begins full commercial service. Minister of Public Works Deodat Indar emphasized that while the investment signals growing confidence in the aviation sector, safety remains the priority during this expansion.

This acquisition occurs amid a broader growth trend in Guyana’s aviation industry. National aircraft registration has increased from 78 in 2020 to over 110 in 2025, a rise of approximately 40 percent. Additionally, domestic passenger traffic grew from 120,992 in 2020 to 267,463 in 2025, while offshore flights more than doubled in the same period.
