Jagsher Singh Khangurra secured a bronze medal in the boys' singles at the BWF World Junior Badminton Championships 2026 in Cairo, Egypt. The 17-year-old Indian shuttler reached the podium after a semifinal loss to Indonesia’s Radithya Bayu Wardhana. Despite winning the second game to force a decider, Khangurra ultimately fell 6-15, 15-13, 3-15 in a 49-minute match.

This achievement marks India’s seventh bronze medal in the individual editions of the World Junior Championships, bringing the nation’s total medal count to 13, which includes one gold, five silver, and seven bronze medals. Khangurra, a former Under-17 national champion, has been training at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for the past two years.
