Jaguar captures caiman in Pantanal wildlife footage

Photographer and biologist Amanda Samways captured footage of a jaguar, identified as Kyyavera, attacking and capturing a caiman in the Pantanal region near Porto Jofre, Mato Grosso.

The video shows the jaguar stalking through vegetation before lunging at the caiman and biting it in the head area. Following the strike, the predator dragged the prey along the riverbank into the vegetation. The expedition, which included veterinarian Lara Nicolletti and biologist Thiago Silva-Soares, documented the predatory behavior in real time.
