Jaguar Land Rover to launch Range Rover Sport Electric in September

Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that the Range Rover Sport will join its electric lineup as the Range Rover Sport Electric. The model will make its global premiere in September, following a private preview at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom.

The new SUV retains the conventional Sport’s muscular shape but is powered solely by electricity, using the company’s MLA‑Flex platform that also underpins hybrid and internal‑combustion versions. Production will take place alongside the gasoline and hybrid variants at the Solihull plant. Technical specifications such as battery capacity, range and price were not disclosed ahead of the official unveiling.

CEO Martin Limpert said the electric drivetrain adds “a new dimension” to the vehicle, emphasizing that the Sport Electric will deliver the same high‑performance driving experience expected from the brand. The Goodwood event also featured the first public appearance of the fully‑produced Range Rover Electric.
