Range Rover GT electric grand tourer unveiled as fifth model

Jaguar Land Rover has revealed the Range Rover GT, the fifth addition to the Range Rover family and the brand's first fully electric vehicle. The low‑stanced sedan‑like grand tourer is built on JLR’s new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform, which integrates the battery pack into the chassis for increased rigidity and a low centre of gravity. Prototypes, shown in camouflage, feature a dual‑motor all‑wheel‑drive system, an 800‑volt 119 kWh battery and power outputs reported between 450 hp and 550 hp. The interior adopts a minimalist layout with a large horizontal touchscreen and reduced physical controls.

The GT retains the off‑road capability expected of a Range Rover while targeting long‑distance luxury travel. Production will take place at the Halewood plant in the United Kingdom, with an initial launch as a pure EV planned for early 2027 and the possibility of a hybrid version later. Jaguar Land Rover executives describe the GT as the most car‑like yet unmistakably capable Range Rover ever created.
