Jaguar reveals interior design for first electric Type 01 GT

Jaguar has unveiled the interior of its first fully electric production model, the Type 01 GT. The design follows a radical new creative direction, treating the cabin as an architectural space rather than a traditional car interior.

The cabin features a massive central console that runs the length of the vehicle, dividing the space into four distinct individual seating areas. The aesthetic is inspired by travertine stone, utilizing light textures, natural mineral-like surfaces, and brass-colored accents to create a luxurious, living-space atmosphere.

Technologically, the design aims for minimalism, reducing the visual presence of screens and physical buttons. Notable features include a digital rearview monitor intended to replace a traditional mirror and a low, enveloping driving position. The Type 01 is expected to be built on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture platform, with unconfirmed projections suggesting a 120 kWh battery and a range of up to 770 kilometers. The world premiere is scheduled for October 6 in New York, with production anticipated to begin in October 2026.
