Jaguar reveals Type 01 electric luxury sedan interior

Jaguar has released the first official interior images of its upcoming Type 01, an all-electric luxury four-door grand tourer. The vehicle represents a radical departure from the brand’s legacy, serving as the cornerstone of Jaguar’s transition into an ultra-premium, electric-only manufacturer under Tata Motors ownership.

The cabin features a distinctive, minimalist design centered around a longitudinal “central spine” with a brass-inspired finish. This architectural element divides the interior into four individual seating areas. Eschewing the industry trend of massive passenger screens, the Type 01 utilizes “technology on demand,” with most digital interfaces integrated subtly into the architecture or appearing via a small vertical touchscreen for climate and audio controls.

Notable design choices include a lack of a traditional rear window and a conventional rear-view mirror. Instead, the car employs a ClearSight digital rear-view display positioned at the base of the windshield. The interior materials draw inspiration from travertine stone and artisan textiles, aiming for a sophisticated, lounge-like atmosphere. The full production model is scheduled for its official global unveiling in New York on October 6, 2026.
