Jaguar unveils Type 00 and Type 01 electric GT concepts
Jaguar debuted the Type 00 concept at Miami Art Week, presenting a radical electric grand tourer built on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture platform. The low‑slung vehicle features a 430‑mile WLTP range, 0‑60 mph in under 3.5 seconds, an 800‑volt architecture, and a battery capacity exceeding 200 kWh. Its design, dubbed “Exuberant Modernism,” uses sustainable materials such as reclaimed textiles and stone‑inspired composites, and the interior eliminates traditional instrument clusters. Managing Director Rawdon Glover said the production version will be priced above £100,000 and will influence Jaguar models from 2025 onward.
A few weeks later Jaguar released teaser images of the Type 01 during road tests in Monaco, where the car ran in a new red camouflage. The prototype incorporates technology developed in Formula E, including silicon‑carbide inverters, enhanced regenerative braking, and faster charging. Glover noted that the lessons from Jaguar TCS Racing helped shape the four‑door luxury GT, which is slated for public reveal around mid‑October and will be built in the United Kingdom.
