Jaguar unveils Type 00 EV concept and teases Type 01 prototype
Jaguar has launched its Type 00 concept car, a fully electric ultra‑luxury model with an estimated 1,000 hp powertrain. The radical design, featuring a minimalist, geometric body and no traditional grille, was shown at Miami Art Week and is priced above $120,000. Performance claims include 0‑60 mph in under three seconds, a range of over 430 miles and an 800‑volt architecture. Production is expected in late 2025 for the 2026 model year.
At the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Jaguar displayed a camouflaged Type 01 prototype, the next step in its electric rollout. The GT‑styled car also delivers more than 1,000 hp from three electric motors on the new Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) platform, with 0‑100 km/h in about three seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. Rawdon Glover, Jaguar’s Director‑General, said, "Prefiro que algumas pessoas o detestem e outras o amem de verdade, do que ninguém ter uma opinião formada sobre ele." The prototype is reported to be 85 % complete and aims to compete with high‑end rivals such as Bentley and Rolls‑Royce.
