Jaguar reveals Type 01 luxury electric grand tourer interior

Jaguar has unveiled the interior of its forthcoming Type 01, a luxury electric grand tourer that marks the beginning of a new era for the brand. The vehicle is designed to compete with high-end models from major German and British manufacturers, prioritizing exclusivity and performance over mass-market utility.

The cabin features a distinctive longitudinal central spine that divides the interior into four individual passenger spaces. Moving away from traditional horizontal dashboard layouts, the design utilizes a “strikethrough” motif to visually connect the exterior bonnet with the slim dashboard. Material choices include brass-inspired finishes, textures inspired by travertine stone, and artisan textiles.

Technologically, the Type 01 incorporates a wide screen behind a two-tone steering wheel, a small vertical central console screen, and a digital rearview display located at the bottom of the windshield. The vehicle is expected to deliver over 1,000 horsepower and 1,300 Nm of torque via three electric motors. While the radical design has drawn mixed reactions on social media regarding its lack of physical buttons and unconventional aesthetics, Jaguar intends for the Type 01 to define its new creative philosophy.
