Jaguariúna celebrates 72 years of history and industrial growth

The municipality of Jaguariúna, located in the interior of São Paulo, is celebrating its 72nd anniversary of emancipation. The city, which has approximately 60,000 inhabitants, has transitioned from an agricultural economy based on sugar and coffee to a significant industrial and technological hub within the Campinas Metropolitan Region.

Jaguariúna hosts major companies such as Ambev, Motorola, Cargill, and Croda, and has seen recent job growth in the service, technology, and logistics sectors. Despite its industrial profile, the city maintains a strong rural identity and is officially recognized as the ‘Capital Country do Brasil’ due to its connection to ranching culture and the Jaguariúna Rodeo Festival.

To mark the anniversary, the local government has organized a weekend of free festivities at Parque Santa Maria, including musical performances by artists such as Falamansa, Raphael Aquino, and Isaac Santana.
