Jaguaruna prosecutors indict four for fatal arson murder

The Public Ministry of Santa Catarina has indicted four individuals—three men and one woman—for the murder of a 22-year-old man in Jaguaruna. The incident occurred in June in the Campo Bom area, where the victim was reportedly assaulted and taken to a rural property before being set on fire while still alive.

Forensic examinations confirmed the victim was breathing when the flames reached him. Investigators believe the crime was motivated by internal disputes within a criminal faction linked to drug trafficking. The indictment suggests the victim had been involved in making unsubstantiated claims regarding a member of the group's personal life, which led to the fatal confrontation.
