Jahli Sokolovski wins European Youth Chess Championship in Cetinje

The European Youth Chess Championship has concluded in Cetinje after ten days of competition and nine rounds of play.

In the Open category, Israeli Grandmaster Jahli Sokolovski, the tournament's top seed, secured the title with seven points. Belarusian player Mihej Navumenka and Armenian Grandmaster Emin Ohanjan finished half a point behind, taking silver and bronze respectively based on tie-break criteria.

In the girls' competition, Dutch International Master Eline Rubers claimed the championship with 7.5 points. She was followed by Ukraine's Tetjana Skarbarchuk in second place with seven points, and Slovenia's Anja Beber in third with 6.5 points.

The event was organized by the Chess Federation of Montenegro with support from the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Capital City of Cetinje, and the European Chess Union.
