Jahmyr Gibbs avoids serious injury after awkward fall in Lions win

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs appears to have avoided serious injury following an awkward fall during the team’s victory over the Green Bay Packers. Late in the fourth quarter, Gibbs opted to slide and stop play rather than score a touchdown to ensure the Lions could run more time off the clock before a game-winning field goal.

During the second attempt to stop the clock, Gibbs’ cleat appeared to catch in the turf, causing him to fall in an unnatural manner. While the incident caused concern among fans, coach Dan Campbell confirmed after the game that Gibbs was checked and is expected to be fine. Gibbs also stated that while he felt initial pain, it subsided quickly.

Gibbs finished the game with 116 rushing yards and 27 receiving yards on five catches. Despite the injury scare, the Lions secured the win despite multiple turnovers and missed field goals.
