Jaime Bonilla video threatens Baja California governor Marina del Pilar, sparks Morena unity call
A video leaked showing former Baja California governor and PT senator Jaime Bonilla Valdez threatening Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda has been viewed over 500,000 times on social media. In the recording Bonilla says, “Le voy a romper su madre a Marina…”, and also references a cancelled multimillion‑dollar contract with the company Fisamex that he claims was irregular.
The fallout prompted the Baja California state Congress to issue a statement signed by 18 deputies backing Governor Ávila. Morena’s national leadership, led by Luisa María Alcalde Luján, called for internal unity in the state and established a mediation table headed by the party’s secretary‑general. The party disciplinary commission has received two formal requests to review Bonilla’s conduct. The dispute also revives earlier allegations that the governor had contacts with U.S. agents and paid $300,000 to a former FBI adviser.
