Jaime Gutierrez Wins Quadrortathon; Giuseppe Mangione Claims M65 Title

The Quadrortathon, a four‑day ultra‑marathon series around Lake Orta in Italy, concluded with Spanish runner Jaime Vicente Gutierrez taking the overall men’s title. Gutierrez posted a time of 3:26:08 in the Madonna del Sasso marathon and 3:50:24 in the Giro del Lago d’Orta, edging out fellow Spaniard Marc Giron Gispert. Austrian Ulrike Helm placed second in the women’s overall ranking, while Italy’s Sabrina Chiappa won two of the four races.

Italian veteran Giuseppe Mangione, representing Atletica Amatori Corato, won the M65 age‑group and finished 13th overall. Mangione praised the event’s difficulty, noting the intense heat and varied terrain, and dedicated his victory to his grandson and teammates. The competition attracted athletes from twelve nations and covered more than 170 km with thousands of metres of positive elevation gain.
