Jaime Natale proposes electoral reforms in Puebla Congress

Deputy Jaime Natale Uranga has presented an initiative to the Puebla State Congress to reform the Municipal Organic Law, the Code of Electoral Institutions and Procedures, and the Penal Code. The proposal seeks to prohibit individuals convicted of intentional crimes punishable by imprisonment from registering as pre-candidates or candidates.

The initiative also proposes the suspension of political-electoral rights and disqualification from holding elective office for a period ranging from the length of the prison sentence to double that duration, or permanently depending on the severity of the crime. The proposal has been referred to the Commission of Procuration and Administration of Justice for analysis.

Additionally, the Agenda 2030 Commission, chaired by Natale, approved an exhortation for municipal governments to implement strategic environmental policies, such as increasing collection centers for recyclable materials including electronics, paper, plastic, and metal.
