Jaime Zapata Sports Complex celebrates 27 years in Resistencia

The Jaime Zapata Sports Complex in Resistencia, Chaco, celebrated its 27th anniversary on August 27. Originally a vacant lot used for construction works in the Santa Inés neighborhood, the site was transformed through community initiative and local support into a major regional sports hub.

Fabio Vázquez, president of the Instituto del Deporte Chaqueño (IDCH), highlighted the facility's growth, noting it now hosts over 26 different disciplines. He specifically praised the high quality of the athletics track, which attracts delegations from other provinces, while urging the community to maintain the infrastructure.

The complex features a variety of facilities, including football, rugby, and hockey fields, a covered grandstand for approximately 4,000 spectators, basketball courts, handball and volleyball courts, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and kinesiology rooms.
