Jaimon Lidsey confirmed to have broken clavicle

Australian speedway rider Jaimon Lidsey has been confirmed to have suffered a broken clavicle. The injury occurred during a crash in the 14th heat of a match involving Włókniarz Częstochowa.

Reports indicate that Lidsey was cleared by medical staff to continue racing despite visible pain. It has been suggested that Lidsey intentionally entered a subsequent heat to hit the starting tape, a maneuver intended to allow a substitute to take his place. Under current regulations, a rider cannot be replaced if they are deemed unfit to ride immediately following a crash unless specific conditions are met.

His British league club, the Northampton Foxes, confirmed the diagnosis on Saturday morning, noting that the injury will prevent him from participating in the final matches of the season.
