Jaipur celebrates Janmashtami with massive temple crowds

Large crowds gathered across Jaipur to celebrate Janmashtami, with major temples seeing significant footfall. At the Govind Devji Temple, devotees formed queues stretching approximately 1.5 kilometers. The celebration included a ritualistic 'panchamrit abhishek' using 425 liters of milk, 365 kg of curd, 11 kg of ghee, 85 kg of sugar, and 11 kg of honey. The birth of Lord Krishna was marked at midnight with the firing of 31 cannons and fireworks.

At the ISKCON Temple in Mansarovar, devotees also faced long wait times. Some worshippers expressed dissatisfaction regarding the management of the crowds and the implementation of VVIP darshan arrangements, noting that the facilities should have been better prepared for the expected influx of people during the festival.
