Jaipur deports nine foreign women after visa violations

India’s Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) deported nine foreign women from Jaipur after their tourist or short‑term visas had expired. Five of the women were from Thailand and one each from Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria and Laos; most worked as therapists in upscale spa and wellness centres.

The operation involved surprise inspections at multiple spa venues, verification of passports and visas, and the detention of the women before they were sent back to their home countries. FRO officer Dharmendra Sagar warned landlords, hotel owners and homestay operators to verify the original passport and visa of every foreign guest, to upload guest details through the online C‑Form, and to comply with the Foreigners Act, noting that failure to do so will attract strict legal action. The drive is part of an ongoing campaign in Rajasthan to identify and remove foreign nationals residing illegally and to ensure commercial establishments follow immigration regulations.
