Jaipur implements traffic restrictions for Janmashtami festivities

Authorities in Jaipur have issued a special traffic and security advisory for the Janmashtami festival due to expected large crowds at the Govind Dev Ji, ISKCON, and Akshaya Patra temples. To manage the influx of devotees, the Walled City (Parkota) area will implement strict vehicle restrictions, including bans on e-rickshaws, autos, light commercial vehicles, and city buses.

Major routes leading to the Govind Dev Ji Temple, such as Badi Chaupar, Subhash Chowk, and Jalebi Chowk, have been declared no-vehicle zones. Public transport within the Walled City will be suspended, and officials strongly recommend using the Jaipur Metro to avoid congestion.

Picking up from the logistics, 15 designated parking sites have been established with a total capacity for approximately 6,345 vehicles. Devotees are warned that they may need to walk between 5 and 6 kilometers due to the heavy crowds. Specific entry and exit points have been set to streamline movement, and visitors are advised to use QR codes to access live parking locations and traffic diversion updates.
