Jaipur jeweler catches woman stealing 20 lakh rupees in gold

A woman was apprehended in Jaipur, India, after attempting to steal gold jewelry worth approximately 20 lakh rupees from Bhavani Jewellers on Nivaru Road. The incident occurred on September 3 when the suspect entered the shop under the guise of a customer.

According to reports, the suspect requested to see various rings, and when the jeweler, Trilokchand Prajapat, provided a box of jewelry, she seized the opportunity to grab the entire box and flee. The box reportedly contained more than 25 gold rings. The entire theft was captured on the shop’s CCTV cameras.

Following the theft, the jeweler and an associate chased the suspect for approximately 500 meters and successfully detained her before handing her over to the Jhotwara police. Upon her arrest, police recovered chili powder and chili spray from her purse. During questioning, the suspect allegedly stated that her intention was to be sent to jail.
