Jaipur police arrest six suspects in July jewelry robbery

On the night of July 3, a gang attacked jeweler Shankarlal Sharma in the Khoraabisl area of Jaipur, using a blocked‑road tactic and blunt weapons. The assailants stole roughly ₹35 lakh in gold and silver jewellery and ₹1.5 lakh in cash, injuring the jeweler’s hands, head and nose.

Jaipur police first detained three alleged participants – Komlesh Kumar Bajya, Vishal Meena and Ashok “Golu” Meena – and later apprehended three additional gang members, bringing the total to six suspects. The accused were paraded before locals, placed in police custody and presented in court, where a five‑day police remand was approved.

Investigators say the robbery was coordinated with a rented car, weapons and pre‑arranged gang roles, and that stolen jewellery may have been melted to conceal its origin. One suspect, Jitendra, remains at large. Authorities continue to trace the missing items and identify any further accomplices.
