Cockroach Janata Party activists attacked during Rajasthan school inspection
Members of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) were involved in a violent confrontation in Rampura Kanwarpura village, Jaipur, during their ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign. The group, led by co-convener Ashutosh Ranka, intended to inspect a government primary school that has been operating from a cattle shed due to its dilapidated and unsafe condition.
CJP activists allege they were attacked by a mob, including BJP-backed individuals, resulting in injuries to several members, a fractured hand, and damage to vehicles and mobile phones. The party has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Rajasthan government, demanding the arrest of those responsible and the resignation of Education Minister Madan Dilawar.
Local villagers and the Rajasthan government have offered different accounts. Villagers reported resisting the entry of outsiders and denied assaulting the activists. Education Minister Madan Dilawar accused the CJP of attempting to disrupt school activities and claimed the group is working with political opponents.
In a separate incident in Latur, Maharashtra, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was booked by police for allegedly entering a Zilla Parishad school without permission, disrupting official duties, and threatening teachers during a similar inspection campaign.
