Jaipur tourist guide murdered following vehicle dispute
A tourist guide, Manish Soni, died following a stabbing attack in the Amer area of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute regarding vehicle movement near Amer Fort. According to police, the altercation began on Monday when Soni, who was managing vehicle traffic, had a confrontation with a jeep driver named Azam. The dispute escalated, leading Azam and an accomplice, Nazish, to attack Soni with a knife.
Following Soni's death during medical treatment, significant unrest broke out in the local community. Merchants and residents closed local markets to protest the killing. Demonstrators have demanded strict action against the accused, including an encounter and the demolition of the suspects' illegal constructions.
Protesters and the victim's family have also submitted a list of demands to the government, including 1 crore rupees in compensation, a government job for a family member, and the allocation of a Saras dairy booth. Police have detained both primary suspects, Azam and Nazish, for questioning. Heavy police presence has been deployed in Amer to maintain order as protesters threatened to block the Delhi Road if their demands are not met.
