Jair Bolsonaro authorized to leave house arrest for dental treatment

Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has authorized former President Jair Bolsonaro to temporarily leave his humanitarian house arrest to receive dental treatment. Bolsonaro, who is serving a sentence of 27 years and three months for his involvement in a coup attempt, is currently recovering from bacterial pneumonia.

To ensure security, Moraes ruled that the specific date, time, and location of the appointment must remain confidential. The Military Police of the Federal District (PMDF) will coordinate the logistics and provide an escort. The justice specifically noted that the procedure should take place at the PMDF Medical Center, rather than the private clinic of Bolsonaro's daughter-in-law, Fernanda Antunes Figueira Bolsonaro, as requested by his defense.

If any details regarding the appointment are leaked, the authorization for the medical trip will be immediately canceled. Bolsonaro remains under strict restrictions, including a prohibition on receiving certain visitors following recent social media activity by his son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro.
