Jair Ventura rejects departure from Esporte Clube Vitória

Esporte Clube Vitória manager Jair Ventura has rejected rumors of a departure, stating his intention to fulfill his contract which runs until the end of 2026. Despite recent poor results and interest from Internacional, Ventura emphasized his loyalty to club president Fábio Mota.

Ventura described leaving at this time as “ingratitude” and “cowardice,” citing the support Mota has provided during the team's fluctuations since the Campeonato Baiano. He noted that while he has faced pressure from fans following recent losses, including an elimination in the Copa do Brasil and a defeat to Bahia, he does not intend to abandon the project.

The coach clarified that any change in leadership would not be his decision, adding that he has never walked away from a job due to pressure or criticism.
