Jaisalmer school bus fire evacuates 25 children safely
A school bus carrying approximately 25 students from SM Public School caught fire near Dhauwa village in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. The incident occurred around 6:30 AM while the bus was traveling from Pithla toward the school.
The driver acted quickly to stop the vehicle and evacuate all children as smoke began rising from the engine compartment. Due to the driver's prompt actions, no injuries or fatalities were reported among the students or staff. However, the fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, completely destroyed the bus and consumed the children's school bags and books.
Local residents and three fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene to control the flames. Following the incident, the students were transported to school in alternative vehicles. Local authorities are investigating the technical condition of the bus to confirm the exact cause of the fire.
