Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur reportedly rebuilt

The Markaz Subhan Allah headquarters in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, used by the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), has reportedly been reconstructed. The facility was severely damaged during India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, 2025, which was launched in response to a terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.

Satellite imagery and recent reports indicate that major portions of the 18-acre complex, also known as the Jamia Subhan Allah or Usman-o-Ali campus, have been restored. Visual evidence shows repaired domes and fresh cement work. Intelligence reports suggest that the Pakistani establishment allocated approximately PKR 25 crore to JeM for the restoration, with PKR 11 crore specifically designated for rebuilding the central hall. Construction is also reportedly underway on structures adjoining the main complex, including Madrasa Al-Sabir and residential quarters for JeM commanders.

The Bahawalpur base has long been a center for JeM recruitment and training and has been linked to several major attacks against India, including the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2019 Pulwama suicide bombing. The May 2025 strike reportedly resulted in the deaths of relatives of JeM founder Masood Azhar.
