Jaishawn Barham's impact forces Dallas Cowboys lineup decisions

Rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham is creating a lineup dilemma for the Dallas Cowboys as veteran DeMarvion Overshown nears a return from a hamstring injury. Barham, a third-round pick from Michigan, has made an immediate impact on the defense, prompting discussions regarding whether he should retain his starting role.

Coach Brian Schottenheimer indicated that Barham is making a strong case to remain on the field, noting the rookie's ability to learn from mistakes and grow quickly. If Barham remains a starter, the team may need to adjust the roles of other linebackers, such as Dee Winters or Overshown.

Statistical data highlights Barham's influence; during Week 3, the Cowboys' defense surrendered over two fewer yards per play when he was on the field compared to when he was not. His performance included significant plays against the Baltimore Ravens, such as stopping Derrick Henry on critical downs to help secure a lead.
