Jajce educational segregation persists under 'two schools' system
In Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the 'two schools under one roof' system continues to segregate primary school students based on ethnicity. Activist Samir Beharić has highlighted that while Bosniak and Croat students may walk to school together, they enter through different doors and attend separate classrooms with different schedules and teachers.
Beharić, who experienced this system himself, noted that while secondary schools in the area are integrated, the primary school division remains a significant issue. He expressed concern that the most dangerous consequence of this system is not the physical separation, but the psychological barriers and divisions created in the minds of children, which could impact future generations.
