Jakarta advances urban development, job fairs, and cultural initiatives
Jakarta is undertaking several urban and economic initiatives. The provincial government has allocated budgets for slum area improvements in Central Jakarta, including Tanah Abang and Kebon Melati. Additionally, the revitalization of the Blok M area, a collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government and PT MRT Jakarta, is targeted for completion by 2029 to create an integrated transit zone.
In East Jakarta, the Career Fest 2026 has provided over 2,000 job vacancies, aiming to boost worker competency and networking opportunities. Meanwhile, the INACRAFT October Vol. 5 2026 exhibition is set to take place at the Jakarta International Convention Center, featuring the “Techno Craft” theme to blend traditional Indonesian handicrafts with modern technology and involving 19 young entrepreneurs.
On the diplomatic front, the Jakarta Provincial Government is seeking cultural and creative industry collaborations with Seoul, South Korea, following discussions at the Indonesia Festival 2026.
