Jakarta DPRD urges real job placement following high unemployment
The unemployment rate in DKI Jakarta remains at approximately 6.03 percent, despite a slight recent decrease. In response to these figures, members of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) are urging the provincial government to ensure that employment initiatives, such as the ‘Jakarta Selatan Career Fest & Bazaar 2026’, result in actual job placements rather than serving as mere ceremonial events.
August Hamonangan, a member of the DPRD from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) faction, emphasized that the success of job fairs should be measured by the number of citizens who successfully secure employment following the events. He called on the provincial government, under Governor Pramono Anung, to closely monitor post-event outcomes to ensure real labor absorption for the community.
